either way, a david versus g go lieith -- goliath type feel. >> jim: no question. >> clark: and butler has been working towards this opportunity for a long time. >> jim: good feed, smith goes inside to ebanks. >> clark: one of the few times we have seen that tonight, jim, and usually west virginia will get a couple of baskets a half on that type of cut but duke has done a really good job of pressuring the ball and being in good position as a team to take away some of the curls and back cuts. >> jim: the first points of the second half for ebanks. scheyer. gets past the defenders. >> clark: everything that we talk about at the top of the
telecast that west virginia needed to do, defend the 3-point shot, rebound the basketball, contain dribble penetration. [whistle] >> clark: it has not happened. >> jim: another call against thomas. how about the big three? talking about singler, smith, scheyer. for the duke blue devils. >> clark: they have all been stellar and nolan smith has done it with the penetration and 3-point shot making, as well as scheyer has. >> jim: they have 57 of duke's 69 points. >> clark: you know, it hasn't been often this year when all three of them have performed at such a high level. typically it's been two of the three but they are all right at or above their averages for the season and the shooting percentage, as well as the assists. they are not only scoring the
ball but they are making plays for others. typically for each other, it seems, since they've got all of the points. >> jim: 5:30 to play. >> clark: and, jim, probably the most complete game we've seen from the blue devils. >> jim: we've seen all five in the tournament and they have always had one missing element. scheyer off against cal, singler against baylor. smith has come on strong. and that's mazzulla. jones. >> clark: he had an open teammate and elected to take the shot himself there. things have flattened out a bit since da'sean butler had to be carried off the floor with what appeared to be a serious knee
injury. >> jim: it is a team, without bryant, being lost early in the tournament in a practice. an injury, a foot injury. two on the shot clock. scheyer. zoubek. he is in double figures in rebounds. >> clark: again, he has averaged 10 a game in the tournament. and that'll be a big force for butler to contend with. >> jim: he has got 10 in this one, five at each end. >> clark: i am assuming that duke will move on unless something drastic occurs. >> jim: and the jump ball and the arrow back to duke.

time. >> clark: yes, that's right. and it's been the ability of duke's perimeter players to control the game. and then the size of zoubek inside. to create second shot opportunities. >> jim: singler with the pure stroke and it's a 3. >> clark: you start looking ahead, jim, and butler is terrific defensively, but they are gonna have to be really good offensively, i think, as well, to have a chance to knock off duke. it certainly is possible. it's not a huge mountain. but they will have their work cut out for them. >> jim: they have already beaten a one and two. >> clark: they won't come in with fear or lack of confidence but they will have to be really good at both ends of the floor because duke presents a lot of problems with size, skill on the perimeter. >> jim: west virginia calls a time-out.
>> jim: you know, looking ahead to monday, a couple of interesting scenarios with the coaches. when coach k. took the job at duke, brad stevens was 3 years old. and brad stevens will try to be the second youngest coach to ever win a title. and meanwhile, coach k. will try to become the third oldest to

being here yesterday at practice and being around the teams on thursday, you couldn't help but be impressed by the attitude that west virginia had. i know everyone comes here thinking they are gonna win it but it seemed to really come through. and it's davidson. jordan davidson, the senior from melbourne, arkansas. and that's jonnie west bringing the ball up for the mountaineers. cam thoroughman on the floor. and mason plumlee to dawkins and the final 10 seconds are gonna run out on this national semifinal.
